Prepare recharge built-in battary is needed before use the JNC660 when first purchased recharge it for at least 24 hours, recharge immediately after each use, and every three months if not used. Failure to perform maintenance charges may cause the battery life to be reduced greatly. For each recharge, care must be taken not to overcharge the JNC660. User must frequently monitor the charging process to ensure the unit is not overcharged by observe the battery status gauge, which provides an approximate indicator of the battery’s state of charge. The user must strict handle about the charge hour which has been suggested in the manual.
 
How to read the battery status on the gauge? You can check easily by watching the pin. if the pin point into the green shaded area indicates the unit is capable of jump starting, if point into the yellow shaded area indicates the unit needs to be recharged and if point into the red shaded area indicates the unit must be recharged immediately. You can observe a gauge while recharging to know that has it got power enough. You can press and hold the red test button in front of the unit to immediately check the battery status. You can also get a quick check of your vehicle’s charging system by depressing the red test button while connected to a running vehicle and observing the gauge. Recharge battery can be using AC power, with a household extension cord connected to the built-in charger. An alternative method is through the DC power outlet from vehicle’s 12 Volt power port when AC power is not available.

When you jumpstart turn ignition off before making cable connections. Clamp the positive (red +) clamp to the positive terminal on the vehicle battery then clamp the negative (black –) clamp to the vehicle ground (non-moving metal part, such as the vehicle frame) then start the vehicle. If the vehicle doesn’t start within 6 seconds, let the JNC660 cool for 3 minutes before attempting to start the vehicle again. When the vehicle is started, disconnect the negative (–) battery clamp from the vehicle frame and return it to its holster then  disconnect the positive (+) clamp and return it to its holster. Be careful about do not allow the positive and negative clamps come into contact with each other or a common metal surface. Always be sure to re-wrap cables and re-holster clamps, reinstalling the Grip Guards™ in the process, after each use and prior to storage.

This Jump n Carry 660 comes with a redeemable certificate for a one-time replacement unit. If (for ANY reason) this unit stops working during its lifetime, you send it back to the company with the certificate (along with $50) and they will repair or replace it, no questions asked. Not a bad deal!
